Learning a language doesn’t have to be difficult! The Ulpan method was designed to quickly teach modern Hebrew in an immersive setting in the comfort of your home.
We teach Hebrew in a fun and lively way through conversation, culture, music, newspapers, and literature. Our instructors are native-Israeli certified educators who are hand-picked, screened, and trained to meet our high standards.

3 Learning Levels
What Sets Us Apart
We go above and beyond in order to show our clients why we’re the best option for their needs. We've taken our deep educational expertise and created 3 simple learning level, Aleph, Bet, and Gimmel. Read below to learn more, and contact us with questions.

Aleph
Beginner
As a beginner, you will learn to speak, understand, read and write modern Hebrew. As you complete your Aleph journey you will have expanded upon your vocabulary and familiarize yourself with present tense and infinitives.

Bet
Intermediate
As you continue your Hebrew journey you we begin to focus more upon your conversational skills. This includes expanding upon your knowledge of the past tense, and introduction of the Hebrew paradigms, and verb conjugates. Upon completion of Bet you will be equipped with a solid foundation of conversational Hebrew.

Gimel
Advanced
Our Gimel level is all about taking your Hebrew to a higher level with the introduction of the future tense and strengthening your grammar and syntax. At this level you will be reading a wide array of Hebrew material and Literature. This includes main stream Israeli Media such as Israeli News, Magazines, Radio, Television, and other forms of advanced writing.

Nira Efrati
CEO/Founder
Nira Efrati is the founder and Education Director of Limudy, an Ulpan program teaching modern conversational Hebrew

Nira’s academic degrees are BS in Education from Adelphi University, and an MS in Educational Computing from Baruch College. She began her career as an educator at Shazar Elementary school in Tel Aviv in 1983 before moving to the United States
​
Since moving to New York City in 1986, Ms. Efrati has been the Director of several education and Hebrew language programs in New York and New Jersey, including AZYF (American Zionist Youth Foundation), March of the Living, Temple Sharey Tefilo (South Orange, NJ), Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy (Livingston, NJ), and Congregation B’nai Jeshurun (Short Hills, NJ).
Ms. Efrati brings her passion to teaching Hebrew language and culture and liveliness for learning into the classroom.
